Sunday Casual meets at 9.30 am at the Old Ettington Road in Wellesbourne. This ride is open to all club members, or any new riders who want to try club cycling as a guest.
Distance is typically 25 to 30 miles at an average speed of 11-14 mph which for most people is a very relaxed…...you might even say even a Casual pace !
Our objective is to provide an enjoyable ride to meet the needs of as many of those riding. So speeds will be faster or slower, This is mainly determined by who is riding that particular day eg current club members or new guest riders
If necessary we will regroup if a gap opens up eg at the top of a hill. We have never left any rider behind as it the responsibility of the Ride Leader is to ensure everyone returns home safely.

Ride leader is Trevor Shaw
Sunday weather looks reasonable but you never know whats around the corner in the UK1 Our Casuall ride contains
familiar elements and its greatest USP that there are no hills to speak of , just a few gentle inclines. Route is
Wellesbourne, Walton, cross the Fosseway, maybe to Honington (Note 1) , Whatcote (Note 2),
The Tysoes, Radway , emerge at bottom of Edgehill , Gilkes for coffee ( Note 3).Kineton ,
Butlers Marston, cross Fosseway, Wellesbourne
Total 26miles or 33 miles (with Honington , we will decide between us once we reach turning)
Note 1 -Total distance is 26 miles and we might add an extra 6 miles on by looping into Honington first
(would add an extra half hour, so then 2.25 hours ride time not 1.75 hours without Honington
Coffee break will add extra 30-40 mins on both routes
Note 2 _- Chencked our route today and there are roadworks blocking the Brailes junction .
However the guys should let us through as they did for me today
Note 3 - Mike said there was an issue at NHC cafe when it became clear that there were 7 people
Even though they rode in two groups throughout it was clear this wasnt two seperate groups arrivng
So suggest we dont all walk in together!!!!
Trevor
