All rides will be around 25 miles or less with a target average speed of 11-13 mph (no one left behind!) usually with a cafe/cake stop.
A "Rewilding Warwickshire" ride to tie in with COP26.
Rewilding is not just important for endangered species; wild places are part of the planet's climate regulatory mechanism. In the UK we got rid of them centuries ago. The biggest rewilding project on our patch is the Heart of England Forest, which plans to establish 30,000 acres of woodland. So far, 1.9m trees have been planted, covering 7,000 acres. 13 red list bird species are making it their home.
The route:
Past Loxley Meadow and Goldicote nature reserves, cross River Stour at Wimpstone (home to otters and the odd brown trout), Espresso barn for a (hopefully Fair Trade) ☕. Through HoE Forest, Welford (home of a tree planting and verge wildflower seeding project), Clifford Chambers, and back by Charlecote Park.
28 miles, can be reduced by skipping the Forest.
If you want more COP26, there is the Wellesbourne March for Climate on Saturday ?.
