Club Sunday RIDE

Description

Sunday Club rides are between 40 and 55 miles long and riden at an average speed between 14 and 16 mph. Rides start from the Stag's Head at 9am unless otherwise specified.

This weeks route is a bit different as it takes in the short, but hard, 'Reach for the Skies' ride. This starts and finishes at Ebrington Village Hall and covers about 21 miles. The route takes in the climbs of Dovers, Willersey and Bakers Hills with a final challenge of Larkstoke. The course is usually marked by Evesham Wheelers.

No pre- registration is required. Identification is by taped on number and rider recognition, timing is by marshal's watch with Strava bring the final arbiter of any unlikely dispute. Start singly or with a group any time between 9:30 am and 10:30 am. There is no charge to enter.

There is tea, coffee and scrumptious cakes available in the hall for which we ask for a donation, all the money goes to a local charity.

The current record of just over 54 minutes is held by Marc Chamberlain of Cotswold Cycles TREK Race Team.

Cutts of Campden FORD will be delighted to present a bottle of  champagne to the best lady and best gentleman riders, an appropriate award for under 16 and a special award for best Spirit of the  Day.

If you want to ride over, I suggest leaving Wellesbourne at about 08.30 with the aim to get to Ebrington about 9.45/10.00. Riding over and back plus the event will provide approximately 56 miles.

Alternatively, meet at Ebrington village hall at 9.45. We might have the club gazebo there.
