Bank Holiday Monday Ride - 37.5 miles

*THE DETAILS BELOW SHOULD BE READ TO ACCOMMODATE A 24 HOUR DELAY IN THE RIDE TO BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY. COFFEE STOP WILL NOW BE AT THE HORSESHOE INN, SHIPSTON RATHER THAN THE ILMINGTON CAFE.

The first ride of the New Year will be a combined Sunday CLUB and HASTINGS Ride led by me (Gary) on a new route that I put together and tested by riding it on my own on Saturday 17th December. We ride to the coffee stop at Ilmington cafe via Loxley, Alderminster and  Crimscote, where we will have a brief early stop (20 minutes) and also say a quick hello to Shipston CC riders who have arranged for the cafe to be open to accommodate them and us. From here we go "over the top" via Foxcote down to Charingworth and then head for Shipston. It's then on to Tysoe where we take on the short ascent up the Shennington road, before turning left at the top, making our way to Edgehill and then the descent towards Kineton. From Kineton we take the top road towards Wellesbourne and come back into the village via the descent from Moreton Paddox. FYI, my ride time on the trial run was just under 2.5 hours, without a stop.
